Philip Sanger, MD

Managing Member

As an active investor and the founder of multiple ventures, including a publicly traded Medicare-Advantage Health Plan, Dr. Sanger understands what it takes to build a successful healthcare company. After working for more than 25 years as a pulmonary and critical care specialist, he also understands firsthand the complexities and challenges of the healthcare system. He now leverages this knowledge to provide both capital and collaboration as a Managing Partner of TEXO Ventures.

In the early 1980s, he served as the Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at the Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. By 1990, he had founded and sold a home health durable medical equipment company, launched and grew a profitable Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) to over 50K subscribers, and built a 54K square-foot multi-specialty surgical center, imaging facility, and laboratory that was acquired by a publicly traded company.

In 1996, he founded Intercede Health and developed it from a 3-person hospitalist company into a leader in comprehensive medical management impacting care for over 1 million patients. He went on to help launch and serve on the Board of HealthSpring through a successful IPO in 2006.

Dr. Sanger currently serves on the Board of Intercede Health, Televero Health and Wenzel Spine. He is also an advisor to Santé Ventures. B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin; Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech; Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the Baylor School of Medicine in Houston, TX; Pulmonary Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco.

Rudy Garza

Managing Member

Rudy is leveraging his history, expertise and resources to build a global network of Universities, Students, Startups, Industry and Family Offices to speed up the pace of Innovation and Job creation with his work at G51 Amplify. The G51 Venture Scholars Program is currently a national initiative in place at 13 top graduate school programs and growing. From Austin to Raleigh-Durham to Boston and Chicago and west to Palo Alto students are learning and collaborating about promising Startups and helping the Startups find referrals, advice and funding. There are over 200 Venture Scholar alumni working in amazing careers at leading companies across the country and internationally.

His investment and startup experience comes from being the founder and prior managing director of G51 Capital Management, LLC where he focused on the development of all portfolio companies, syndication partnerships and deal flow. Active in the venture business since 1996, he has been an active leader in the venture community, including longstanding participation in National Venture Capital Association and the Texas Venture Capital Association. His firm and the companies in which he has invested have syndicated over $300 million dollars of investment from leading venture firms such as Bain Capital, Polaris Ventures, Morgan Stanley, Institutional Venture Partners, Foundry Group, Floodgate, Silverton Ventures among others. He has been involved in multiple acquisitions of his portfolio companies by Fortune 500 companies including Cisco, ADP, Prudential, SAP and others.

He is a past chairman of the board and past president of the University of Texas Exes 100,000 member alumni association and has served as the chairman of the Alumni Endowment Investment Committee. He is a lifetime honorary trustee of the Dell Children's Medical Center. He received his MBA from The University of Texas and his BBA from St. Edwards University both in Austin.

Jarett Rodriguez

Managing Member

Jarett is a results-driven, entrepreneurial executive with 25 years of experience building and leading privately funded companies and public organizations. He has provided senior executive leadership in both venture-backed and bootstrapped companies, and was recognized by President Obama as a "catalyst for change."

During his years at LSU, Jarett developed a self-sustaining entrepreneurship institute, built collaborations with the NFL and MLB, and created the university's first offering in innovation and creativity—delivering it both for academic credit and to corporate executives. He consulted businesses on new product and service development, served as an advisor to the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities, and worked directly with the Chancellor to develop new methods of revenue generation for the university.

Most recently, Jarett has been building a global consulting firm focused on strategy, revenue acceleration, and solutions support for innovative technology companies in the US and Australia. Previously, he served as President & Chief Innovation Officer of a digital media and software development company. In all roles, he utilizes servant leadership to build teams and engage clients, an entrepreneurial mindset to take responsibility for outcomes, and an innovative lens to view problems as opportunities to overcome and transform.

With a background in technology companies and deep interest in how technology can meaningfully impact individuals and organizations, Jarett has served as an advisor to vitatrackr, Connected Health Austin, and Duality Health. He has served on the boards or advisory boards of numerous startups in digital media, software development, health-tech, construction, and professional services industries, and is an invited public speaker on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Jarett earned his MBA in Strategy from LSU, his MEd in Cardiovascular Physiology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and his BS in Management & Entrepreneurship from Louisiana Tech University. His philosophy is simple: don't be afraid to make decisions, own the outcomes, and always support those you've been entrusted to lead.
